Pen y Fan
Brecon Beacons
Pen y Fan is the highest peak in south Wales, part of Brecon Beacons National Park. There are three paths up to the summit, and, of course, we took the most difficult one.
The five of us on the hike trekked straight up a mountain, then down that mountain, only to find another higher mountain to hike up. Thinking we had finally made it (hence all of the "Y" poses below signifying what I thought had been the end of the hike), having tripped a few times, almost blown off the side of a mountain more than a few times, and seeing loads and loads of sheep, we found ourselves having to hike a little more up another mountain to actually summit the peak of Pen y Fan.
All in all, it was SO worth it. It was one of the prettiest views I've ever seen. I felt pretty accomplished after the hike as well. I'd love to go back and explore more of Brecon Beacons!
